ASGLB Data Reference Group Questionnaire

January 2021

square

At the Data Reference Group meetings held in January 2021, there was a discussion about the ways the data collection templates could be developed to make them easier to be completed and improve the quality of the data collected. The potential amendments that were discussed are listed in the below questionnaire, under the child- and adopter-level template sections.

We would appreciate it if you could complete this questionnaire to help us plan our development of the data collection templates.

Please ONLY complete the sections that are relevant to your agency.

  • The Questionnaire

  • About You

  • Child-Level Template Development Priorities

  • The following potential amendments to the child-level template were discussed during the January Data Reference Group meetings:

    1. Add new “private/non-agency adoption” and “relinquished child” flags at the end of the template to clear queries where data items are not available

    2. Move the existing “family-finding status” field to a more logical place within the template (from section C to section B)

    3. Add a new “plan changed to” field with a pre-defined drop-down list to be completed for child who have had an ADM reversal

    4. Add a new “sibling identifier” field to link sibling groups together

Please select the changes you feel would be most beneficial for your agency in order of priority. Please do not select any changes as a priority that you do not feel would be feasible for your agency to provide.

  • Adopter-Level Template Development Priorities

  • The following potential amendments to the adopter-level template were discussed during the January Data Reference Group meetings:

    1. Add a new “fast-tracked approval” flag at the end of the template to clear queries where Stage 1 dates are not applicable

    2. Add new “FFA/CP match date” and “FFA/CP placement date” fields to match the FFA/CP data collected within the child-level template

    3. Add a new “child/ren-finding status” field to be completed for all approved adopters waiting to be matched

    4. Continue to query all adopters who do not have a match date 12 months from approval and add an additional comments field prompting agencies to select an explanation for this from a pre-defined drop-down list

    5. Add a new “number of children approved to adopt” field

    6. Expand the “reason left the process” field to provide more detailed options to understand why adopters withdraw

    7. Add a section to the “Instructions” tab to collect aggregate-level data on the “number of enquiries” and “number of ROIs” per quarter

    8. Add a section to the “Instructions” tab to collect aggregate-level data on the “number of approved families who could take a sibling group" per quarter

Please select the changes you feel would be most beneficial for your agency in order of priority. Please do not select any changes as a priority that you do not feel would be feasible for your agency to provide.

  • Q4 2020/21 Submission Deadline

  • The Q4 2020/21 data collection will be commissioned on 1st April. There is usually a 10-week commissioning period, with the submission deadline being 10th June. However, we are considering shortening this - this will enable us to report on the impact of the latest lockdown on the system more quickly, and this will also put us in a better position to produce individualised child- and adopter-level templates for the Q1 2021/22 data collection, which will be commissioned on 1st July.
